Checking Stats for Your Company's Website?

SmarterStatsAre you being asked to check your company's website stats? Do you have software in place for it?

I have been updating my firm's website stats for quite some time now and wanted to share some tips on getting the information correct - the first time.

We use SmarterStats to review our page views, hits, resolved IP addresses, etc. It's a great piece of software that will help you and you marketing department figure out the best course of action to increase your site's popularity. The best part of this software is that it provides you with resolved IP addresses, which (most of the time) tells you what company visited your site.

Another tip that I would like to add is to make sure to exclude any IP addresses or pages that spiders or other crawlers might hit your site with. These will inflate you stats and won't show a true indication of what your site really has to offer.

Talk to you IT department and see if they can help you with getting a trial copy of the software. It will definitely help you and your business. Hopefully, your boss will notice that you are taking a proactive approach in your job.
