How To Search Within A Company Website

Google SearchDo you have trouble finding information on a particular firm’s website? Do they not have a search function, but could use one?

This recently happened to me a few times, as I was trying to research marketing contacts for my company. Using Google can definitely help quite a bit, but at times, it can be cumbersome. Try looking through millions upon millions of hits.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. When using Google as your search engine, use the following phrase to look up a particular search within a particular firm’s website:

Phrase site:firm’s website

For example:

Bob Smith site:samplecompany.com

Now you will be able to narrow down your search quite a bit and find what you are looking for.

Hi Babyanne,

Thanks for the note! It's always nice to be welcomed back.

As for the tip, I actually just stumbled upon it, since I need to do this type of searching quite a bit and decided to fiddle around with Google's advanced search function.

Thanks,

Richard
